Renovation of a house in the heart of Ramat Gan, Israel.

This house is a real gem in the middle of the city with the advantages of living in the city, but feeling in the suburbs with all the nature surrounding it. The house was covered with Terra Cotta bricks while inside there were Terra Cotta floor tiles and stairs. The idea in the renovation was to keep the cool New York look but to moderate the use of Terra Cotta. The house was built in the early 80s which explains the use of many levels in the floor plan. The ceilings were low and the house was dark and unwelcoming so we wanted to open the spaces and use bright colors to change that feeling. It was challenging to find the best plan for each level, but the main goal was to create warm spaces for the family to spend time together with one main request - to use a lot of color!
